Will there ever be a second season of Eromanga Sensei? What are my chances of obtaining Eromanga Sensei Season 2?
One of the most contentious shows of 2017, and still now, is without a doubt Eromanga Sensei. Why? Because of the show’s widespread online criticism, particularly in the MyAnimeList forums, and for a variety of reasons. Yet, a large number of viewers fell in love with the show, and many of them have refuted the criticisms. This is why Eromanga Sensei became a sensational topic to be discussed heatedly over the internet.
Eromanga Sensei, as the title suggests, relates the tale of Masamune Izumi, a man who makes a living as a light novelist. He discovered that his illustrator, who is notorious for creating filthy images, is actually his long-lost step-sister as a result of a chain of events.
Japanese light novel series called Eromanga Sensei was originally authored by Tsukasa Fushimi and illustrated by Hiro Kanzaki. Since December 10, 2013, ASCII Media Works has been releasing it under the Dengeki Bunko imprint. There are twelve volumes that have been published as of November 2019. Since then, the author has not released any additional volumes because he is concentrating on Oreimo, another project that is very similar to this one.
Since May 27, 2014, ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Daioh magazine has been serializing Rin’s adaptation of the light novel title Eromanga Sensei as a manga series. Twelve volumes of the manga were published until it was finished, exactly seven years after its initial publication.
Eromanga Sensei Season 2 Renewal Status
The light novel series was turned into an anime television series in addition to a manga series. In September 2016, it was originally revealed during a Nico Nico Live stream. A-1 Pictures, one of the most well-known companies in the anime industry, developed the anime adaptation. This studio needs no introduction. The anime films produced by A-1 Pictures include Sword Art Online, Your Lie in April, The Seven Deadly Sins, and, not to be forgotten, Erased.
The first episode of the anime series Eromanga Sensei aired on April 9, 2017, and the entire season had twelve episodes until it ended on June 25 of the same year. On January 16, 2019, a two-episode ova series was released in its place.
Many of the viewers who actually enjoy the show will want to see a sequel after the current season concludes. So, how far along is Eromanga Sensei Season 2 in terms of renewal?
At the moment, neither the author nor the studio has provided us with any details on Eromanga Sensei Season 2. We don’t know whether there will be a season renewal, as nothing has been confirmed so yet.
Will Eromanga Sensei Season 2 be feasible?
Eromanga Sensei Season 2 would have been very likely a year ago. However, because the light book series came to an end in August 2022, it will no longer apply to the anime series’ future. So, creating a new sequel would essentially be unnecessary.
Leaving aside the aforementioned reason, Eromanga Sensei was incredibly well-liked in Japan, so the likelihood of a second season is very strong. Remember that most of the show’s detractors are fans from countries other than Japan, so their vitriol doesn’t have a significant impact on the show’s popularity or viewership. Not to add, the anime gave the light book series a considerable boost. Eromanga Sensei, a light book, has sold more than a million copies.
At this point, it is difficult to make any predictions because neither the studio nor the author has made any statements about Eromanga Sensei Season 2. Fans should not have high expectations for the anime series’ revival, though. It is so unfortunate that the short novel must come to an end. But, if a new sequel were to be announced in any way, we will keep you informed.
